About Mary Augustyn
Mary V. Augustyn, M.S., L.P.C., is a nationally recognized workshop presenter, an award winning counselor, a respected expert on domestic violence, and a dedicated advocate of a peaceful society. After great success as a business woman, Mary turned her attention towards giving back to society through her work with domestic violence, addictions, relationships, hypnosis, Reiki, and positive thought. After growing up in North Dakota, and residing in the Louisville, Kentucky metro area for 31 years, Mary now works and lives in Breckenridge, Colorado with her husband, Larry.
Mary's Philosophy
Mary’s philosophy is very simple: People have the strength and power within to create peace, joy and happiness for themselves and others. Change, growth and transformation are normal functions of our time on earth. It is essential to share our gifts with the world and to let our own lights shine.

Look to this day!

If there is to be peace in the world, there must be peace in the nations.

If there is to be peace in the cities, there must be peace between neighbors.
If there is to be peace between neighbors, there must be peace in the home.
If there is to be peace in the home, there must be peace in the heart.
The Final Analysis
People are often unreasonable, illogical and self-centered; Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives; Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies; Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you; Be honest and frank anyway.
What you spend years building, someone may destroy overnight; Build anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous; Be happy anyway.

Mary Frederickson grew up in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Valerie and Ted Frederickson had three other children along with Mary; John, Ted, Jr., and Robert.
Mary wed Larry Augustyn in 1970 and they have worked together for most of their married years. Amy, their only daughter, was born in Louisville, Kentucky and now lives in Denver, Colorado with her husband Dr. Matt Palcso and their funny dog Nigel.
Mary's Reason for
Writing the Book . . .
After witnessing the positive effects Stop-Breathe–Focus has given to hundreds of clients, Mary felt determined to offer SBF to as many people as possible.
Mary's Credentials
Mary has her M.S. Ed. with a major in Mental Health Counseling from Indiana University Southeast. Her undergraduate degree is a B.A. in English from the University of North Dakota.
Addicted to learning and eager curiosity, Mary has completed more than 1000 hours in continuing education units.
She is also a National Certified Counselor with the National Board for Certified Counselors, a National Certified Diplomate in Clinical Hypnotherapy, a Reiki Master Teacher, and a provider/clinical supervisor approved by the Colorado Domestic Violence Offender Management Board.

Mary in Colorado
Living in Colorado is a dream fulfilled for Mary and her husband Larry.
They love kayaking, wake-boarding, hiking, skiing, white-water rafting, horse-back riding, winter sleigh rides, walking through Breckenridge, gazing at the incredible cloud formations in the cobalt blue sky at 9600 feet, Sapphire Point, Shrine Ridge, and just being outdoors on their deck next to the rushing waters of French Creek and reveling in the purple mountains majesty that surrounds them.
